5. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6. who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7. but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10. so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11. and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

32. And they were on the road, going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking ahead of them. And they were amazed, and those who followed were afraid. And taking the twelve again, he began to tell them what was to happen to him, 33. saying, "See, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the scribes, and they will condemn him to death and deliver him over to the Gentiles. 34. And they will mock him and spit on him, and flog him and kill him. And after three days he will rise."

21. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. 22. If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. 23. I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better. 24. But to remain in the flesh is more necessary on your account. 25. Convinced of this, I know that I will remain and continue with you all, for your progress and joy in the faith, 26. so that in me you may have ample cause to glory in Christ Jesus, because of my coming to you again. 27. Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel, 28. and not frightened in anything by your opponents. This is a clear sign to them of their destruction, but of your salvation, and that from God. 29. For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake, 30. engaged in the same conflict that you saw I had and now hear that I still have.

1. Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus,To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are at Philippi, with the overseers and deacons: 2. Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 3. I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, 4. always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, 5. because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. 6. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. 7. It is right for me to feel this way about you all, because I hold you in my heart, for you are all partakers with me of grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel. 8. For God is my witness, how I yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus. 9. And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, 10. so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, 11. filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

23. The same day Sadducees came to him, who say that there is no resurrection, and they asked him a question, 24. saying, "Teacher, Moses said, 'If a man dies having no children, his brother must marry the widow and raise up children for his brother.' 25. Now there were seven brothers among us. The first married and died, and having no children left his wife to his brother. 26. So too the second and third, down to the seventh. 27. After them all, the woman died. 28. In the resurrection, therefore, of the seven, whose wife will she be? For they all had her." 29. But Jesus answered them, "You are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God. 30. For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven. 31. And as for the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was said to you by God: 32. 'I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? He is not God of the dead, but of the living." 33. And when the crowd heard it, they were astonished at his teaching.

1. And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2. in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience-- 3. among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. 4. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5. even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ--by grace you have been saved-- 6. and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7. so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9. not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

1. A Psalm of David.Hear my prayer, O Lord;give ear to my pleas for mercy! In your faithfulness answer me, in your righteousness! 2. Enter not into judgment with your servant, for no one living is righteous before you. 3. For the enemy has pursued my soul;he has crushed my life to the ground;he has made me sit in darkness like those long dead. 4. Therefore my spirit faints within me;my heart within me is appalled. 5. I remember the days of old;I meditate on all that you have done;I ponder the work of your hands. 6. I stretch out my hands to you;my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. Selah 7. Answer me quickly, O Lord!My spirit fails!Hide not your face from me,lest I be like those who go down to the pit. 8. Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust.Make me know the way I should go,for to you I lift up my soul. 9. Deliver me from my enemies, O Lord!I have fled to you for refuge! 10. Teach me to do your will, for you are my God!Let your good Spirit lead meon level ground! 11. For your name's sake, O Lord, preserve my life!In your righteousness bring my soul out of trouble! 12. And in your steadfast love you will cut off my enemies, and you will destroy all the adversaries of my soul, for I am your servant.

6. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. 7. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. 8. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. 9. You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. 10. But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11. If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.

1. A Song of Ascents.Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord! 2. O Lord, hear my voice!Let your ears be attentiveto the voice of my pleas for mercy! 3. If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities,O Lord, who could stand? 4. But with you there is forgiveness, that you may be feared. 5. I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope; 6. my soul waits for the Lordmore than watchmen for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning. 7. O Israel, hope in the Lord! For with the Lord there is steadfast love, and with him is plentiful redemption. 8. And he will redeem Israelfrom all his iniquities.
