Blackwood Church of Christ, located in the beautiful Mitcham Hills of Adelaide, is seeking a spiritually mature, relational, and community-minded Minister to join our warm and active church family. We are a welcoming congregation of around 135 members, with approximately 120 gathering for worship each Sunday. Our church values genuine hospitality, spiritual growth, strong community connection, and creating meaningful pathways for discipleship.
The Role
We are seeking a Minister who will work collaboratively with the Elders to guide the ongoing direction of the church and nurture the spiritual life of our congregation. The position includes:
Partnering with the Elders in discerning church direction
Coordinating and leading Sunday worship gatherings
Preaching at least three Sundays each month
Supporting and overseeing staff and key volunteers
Encouraging and training ministry leaders
Working alongside the pastoral care team
Equipping the church in community connection and outreach
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Has a deep commitment to Christ and spiritual growth
Demonstrates humility, grace, generosity, and love
Relates well to people across all ages
Communicates clearly and confidently
Is self-motivated and collaborative
Has a heart for pastoral care and mission
Holds a Bachelor of Ministry (or equivalent)
Is accredited or eligible for accreditation with Churches of Christ SA & NT
Preferably ordained (or able to be ordained)
Holds a Working with Children Check and Australian Driver’s Licence
Has demonstrated experience in pastoral leadership and congregational ministry

Terms
Full time position (0.8FTE is negotiable)
Initial 2-year term with a desire of the elders to extend to a permanent position following formal review
